The Franklin Pools team celebrates taking home two gold and two highly commended awards at the 2021 SPASA Virtual Awards of Excellence.
Franklin Pools Australia cleaned up at the Victorian/Tasmania 2021 SPASA Virtual Awards of Excellence on Friday 27 August, receiving recognition for their work across four of the categories in the industry’s most prestigious awards, winning two golds and two highly commended (H/C) awards.
The Franklin Pools team won Gold in the Pool Landscape Design category for their design in The Block 2020 Series in Brighton and Director and Founder, Dave Franklin took out the highly-regarded Pool Designer Award for his design work at Shelley Craft’s Marvel Street home in Byron Bay.
SPASA said it best when describing the win for Dave Franklin and team:
“Design and construction of award-winning landscapes and pools is Franklin Pools business. From developing a vision in their design studio to managing client projects including permits and construction they’ll take the stress out of building and achieving a dream, Congratulations Dave.”
When describing the winning Pool Landscape Design entry, SPASA said:
“This pool is a hidden oasis, escaping the busy city life. All aspects of this design were carefully considered including a larger tile than typically seen with a unique pattern that gives a stunning effect. A fully functional and practical area for lounging and playing poolside was created, incorporating a sense of familiarity and a brightened vibe.”

Always a humble team player first and foremost, Dave had the most utmost admiration for the collaborative effort behind both the wins:
"Getting a pool and landscape design gold award is huge to us. Design is a main focus of ours, and it’s really great to get recognised in the industry for this, well done to my amazing team. Marvel Street was a team effort, my name might be on the trophy but again great things come with a great team and I couldn’t thank them enough, these two golds and two highly commended awards are fantastic to receive. It means a lot to us.”

The two highly-commended awards were received in both the Courtyard or Plunge Pool category for their work on the 2020 series of The Block and Concrete Pool up to $120,000 category for the design of the pool at Chris and Rebecca Judd’s well publicised and spectacular family home in Kinane Street, Brighton.
The SPASA Australia Awards of Excellence are the swimming pool and spa industry’s most prestigious awards, attracting entries from every region in Australia and showcasing achievements in construction, design, manufacturing, supply, products, retail and service.
The awards provide SPASA members with the only Australia-wide opportunity to showcase their best efforts to their peers, industry, government and their local community. These awards are the ultimate recognition of being leaders in their field. Following their wins from the state awards, the Franklin Pools team will now be competing in the national awards in the two winning categories.
